Visiting Israel: Mini Israel Park
Mini Israel Park is an amazing outdoor park situated on eight acres of land that has recreated the country’s most popular and important landmarks in miniature form. Similar to the famous Madurodam in Holland, these miniature versions of Israel’s landmarks simply must be seen to be believed. Divided into several different geographical regions, the park has miniature versions of all the major landmarks representing all the major religions and cultures.
You will simply be amazed at the incredible details all the miniature models have in comparison to the real, life-sized counterparts. To fully appreciate these details, it is best to visit Mini Israel Park after you have seen all the real locations first. However, because many of the historical landmarks are not safe or open to the public at this time, a visit to Mini Israel Park will at least give you some idea of what you might be missing.
Built to a scale of 1:25, the miniature monuments seem almost real with little model pilgrims actually bowing as the pray at the Western Wall and little planes taxing on the running at the miniature Ben Gurion airport. There are more than 350 beautifully replicated models here and people of all ages will enjoy a day strolling through the itty-bitty-cities.
Mini Israel Park is located about a thirty minute drive west of Jerusalem and many hotels in Jerusalem and Tel Aviv offer paid shuttle service to the park. Because the park is outside, it is best visited on clear, warm days.
