Getting Your Reception Supplies

Planning your wedding reception can take a lot of time and there are so many little details that need to be completed that it can be simple to forget every little thing. Aside from the tables, you also need to remember to have your wedding reception supplies set up and available for when your guests arrive. This includes items that should be placed on tables inside the reception hall or near the entrance that are an integral part of any wedding reception. So, to ensure that you do not forget these items with all the excitement that is involved on the actual day of your wedding, you should put together a box that is filled with all your wedding reception supplies and place it in the car of the person who will be responsible for setting up these supplies at the reception the night before the actual wedding.

The first item you will need in your wedding reception supplies box is your wedding guest book. In the years to come you will want to relive your special day by remembering those who joined you on your first day as a married couple and looking through your wedding guest book is the perfect way to bring those memories back. A wedding guest book will allow your guests to sign their names and add a few words of wisdom if they choose. It can also be useful as a ledger for when you’re sending your thank you cards out. Don’t forget the pen either! Many wedding guest books also come with a decorative pen and holder that can be placed nearby so guests don’t go walking off with it. Place the wedding guest book near the entrance of the wedding reception in a place that will be immediately noticeable. You might want to place a few pictures on the table as well to attract people to the table.

The second item you will need to place in your wedding reception supplies box is your cake serving set. The wedding cake ceremony is one of the most popular and entertaining parts of the wedding reception, so you want to make sure you will be able to cut into the cake with your decorative cake knife and server. You never seem to have a knife when you need one and having to run around looking for one during your wedding reception will not be something you will want to experience. Your wedding cake serving set is something you will want to keep forever to remind you of how special that moment was when you shoved cake in your spouse’s face for the first time! So, don’t run the risk of having to use a plastic knife by remembering to bring these items in the first place.

The third item you definitely don’t want to forget by placing it in your wedding reception supplies box the night before is your toasting set. Your first toast as a married couple is a special and romantic moment for everyone, so make sure it isn’t ruined by forgetting to bring the glasses or you’ll be toasting out of paper cups. The most traditional toasting set is a pair of champagne glasses that are decoratively designed or engraved to stand apart from the rest of the other glasses. You can even get toasting sets that are attached together, symbolizing your newly formed bond. However, you can also enjoy your first toast with decorative beer steins, shot glasses, or martini glasses.

The final thing you’ll want to place in your wedding reception supplies box is the envelope box if you choose to use one. Many guests will bring with them a simple envelope with money inside rather than a wrapped gift. Oftentimes, there isn’t a proper place to put these envelopes, and many guests will fear that their gift of money will end up going missing by the end of the wedding reception. Relieve these fears by setting up an envelope box on the gift table. This is usually an attractively decorated box that has a slot inside large enough for envelopes to be dropped into. Keeping all the envelopes safely tucked away inside will keep everything organized and eliminate the chance that one will fall on the floor.
